Andrea N. L. Zimmerman has been practicing law since 2001. However, she began developing and refining her skills for argument and negotiation prior to law school by doublemajoring in Philosophy and Rhetoric & Communcation Studies. After graduating from Drake University with Summa Cum Laude honors, Andrea worked at a litigation consulting firm. There, she aided in the defense of multimillion dollar cases.
After graduating from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2001, she began her career in southeast Missouri as an attorney, representing clients in criminal and civil matters. Andrea has represented clients accused of both misdemeanors and felonies. She has also represented clients on civil matters ranging from landlord and tenant disputes to divorce and child custody cases.
Once described by a client’s family member after jury trial as a “wolf in sheep’s clothing,” Andrea always goes to bat for her client, aggressively defending them against unfair accusations and charges.
Not only did Andrea speak on behalf of her clients in and out of the courtroom, but she also taught public speaking during this time at Southeast Missouri State University.
After practicing law in southeast Missouri, Andrea accepted a nontraditional legal opportunity with the global organization of Thomson Reuters Westlaw. There, Andrea traveled throughout St. Louis City and County, as well as Little Rock, Arkansas, training attorneys on how to conduct online legal research. Andrea worked with large law firms and trained everyone from paralegals and new associates to long-term partners who represented multimillion dollar corporations.
While Andrea enjoyed her time teaching other attorneys the insandouts of legal research, the backbone of practicing law, she missed her time away from the courtroom. Passionate about the practice of law, Andrea is now representing parties in both criminal law and family law once again throughout southeast Missouri.
